Melton Design Build/GS Forza Cycling is seeking female and male junior bike racers between the ages of 13 and 17 for the 2018 season. The team is based in Boulder with riders from across the Front Range. Highlights from this year include two mountain bike national championships, podium finishes at both road and track nationals with cyclocross season still to come. Junior racers interested in joining should contact the team here.
The team is also excited to announce that Cari Higgins is stepping into the role of head coach. Her company, Cari Higgins Real Estate, will be a presenting sponsor and the team will be known as Melton Design Build / Cari Higgins Real Estate beginning in 2018. Cari joined in 2017 to start a junior women’s program and head up track cycling. She’s now stepping up her commitment for 2018 to lead a group of experienced coaches who provide structured practices and support for riders at national-level and local races in road, track, mountain and cyclocross. “It seems like a great fit to support junior cycling by not only coaching, but also sponsoring the team. I’ve had 10 years of experience in racing at the highest international level, and also coaching juniors. In 2007, I co-founded the Flatiron Flyers Jr Cycling Team here in Boulder and I also helped jumpstart the Twenty20 Junior Cycling program from 2010-2013. So, I’m looking forward to using my expertise to grow this program here in Boulder! I’d encourage any female or male looking for a cycling team in 2018, to reach out to me!”
Excellent coaching and partnerships with local businesses assures continued opportunities for junior racers who want to take their racing to the next level. The Boulder-based remodeling and construction company Melton Design Build enters its third year as the team’s title sponsor. Numerous other businesses support the team, including Blue Competition Cycles, Fast Forward Wheels, Panache Cyclewear, and House of Spin.
